Job Summary:
Sales Head will be responsible for driving channel, institutional, and export sales to expand market share and maximize revenue for all steel products. The role involves developing and implementing sales strategies, managing key customer relationships, and ensuring business growth in both domestic and adjoining international markets.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales Strategy & Market Expansion
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for channel sales, institutional sales, and exports.
- Identify new business opportunities, distributors, and institutional buyers to increase market penetration.
- Formulate pricing and marketing strategies to stay competitive and increase market share.
- Expand the company's presence in adjoining countries through export sales initiatives.
2. Channel & Institutional Sales Management
- Develop a strong network of dealers, distributors, and channel partners to drive domestic sales.
- Build and maintain relationships with large institutional buyers (e.g., infrastructure companies, EPC contractors, government agencies).
- Ensure product availability and timely order execution for channel and institutional partners.
- Conduct regular review meetings with channel partners and institutional clients to assess performance and address concerns.
3. Export Sales & International Business Development
- Identify export opportunities in neighbouring countries and develop international sales strategies.
- Build partnerships with international distributors, steel traders, and government agencies.
- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, export documentation, and logistics management.
- Participate in global trade fairs and industry exhibitions to enhance the company's brand presence.
4. Revenue & Profitability Management
- Set and achieve annual sales targets across all segments (channel, institutional, export).
- Develop pricing models to optimize margins and competitiveness in both domestic and international markets.
- Monitor sales performance, payment collections, and credit risk to ensure financial discipline.
5. Logistics & Supply Chain Coordination
- Work closely with production and supply chain teams to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Optimize logistics and distribution networks for efficient domestic and export sales.
- Address supply chain challenges and implement cost-effective solutions.
6. Customer Relationship Management
- Build long-term partnerships with key customers, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Address customer concerns and resolve issues proactively.
- Gather customer feedback and provide insights to the production and marketing teams for product improvements.
7. Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and train a high-performing sales team.
- Assign sales targets and track performance through regular sales reviews.
- Foster a culture of innovation, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Metallurgy, or a related field.
- MBA in Sales & Marketing / International Business is preferred.
Experience:
- 12+ years of sales experience in the steel industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong experience in channel sales, institutional sales, and export business.
- Proven track record in managing high-value accounts, large distribution networks, and international markets.
- Age upto 45 yrs
