The Role plays a crucial role in managing the merchandising process from concept to delivery, while maintaining quality standards and client satisfaction. With strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills, along with a deep understanding of the garment industry, they contribute significantly to the success and profitability of the export house.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for clients, understanding their requirements, communicating order specifications, and addressing any concerns or queries promptly.
Order Management: Manage the entire order process, from receiving orders to production planning, ensuring accurate documentation, and timely execution.
Costing and Pricing: Prepare cost sheets, negotiate pricing with suppliers, and ensure profitability while remaining competitive in the market.
Sourcing: Source raw materials, trims, and accessories required for garment production, ensuring quality and timely delivery while maintaining cost-effectiveness.
Production Coordination: Collaborate with production teams to ensure smooth workflow, monitor production progress, and address any issues that may arise to meet delivery deadlines.
Quality Control: Implement and oversee quality control procedures to maintain high product standards and minimize defects or deviations from client specifications.
Sampling: Coordinate and monitor the sampling process, ensuring samples meet client requirements and are delivered within the specified timeframe.
Documentation: Prepare and maintain all necessary documentation related to orders, including purchase orders, production schedules, shipping documents, and invoicing.
Forecasting and Trend Analysis: Stay updated on market trends, conduct market research, and provide insights to support decision-making regarding product development and merchandising strategies.
Team Management: Provide guidance and support to junior merchandisers and other team members, fostering a collaborative work environment and ensuring productivity and efficiency.
