Role :
The IT Head will lead the strategic and operational management of technology systems to ensure efficient operations across multiple fuel stations. The role requires expertise in payment processing systems, inventory management solutions, regulatory compliance, and IT infrastructure tailored to fuel retail. This individual will oversee technology integration, innovation, and cybersecurity to drive operational excellence. This profile ensures that the IT Head aligns technology with the specific needs of fuel station operations while addressing regulatory, security, and customer expectations effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic IT Leadership:
- Develop and implement IT strategies aligned with the company’s business objectives.
- Drive digital transformation initiatives across fuel station operations to enhance efficiency and customer experience.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption to improve station profitability and compliance.
System Management and Integration:
- Oversee the deployment, maintenance, and optimization of point-of-sale (POS) systems and payment processing technologies, ensuring reliability and security.
- Implement and manage inventory management systems for real-time monitoring of fuel and non-fuel stock levels.
- Coordinate the integration of IT systems with business processes, ensuring seamless communication between stations and the corporate office.
Regulatory Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure all IT systems comply with industry-specific regulatory standards, including PCI DSS for payment security and environmental safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records and reporting systems to support compliance with government and industry standards.
- Monitor and implement updates for compliance-related software tools.
Cybersecurity and Data Protection:
- Establish and enforce robust cybersecurity measures to protect payment systems, customer data, and operational networks.
- Monitor for vulnerabilities and lead incident response efforts for IT security breaches.
- Train staff on cybersecurity awareness and best practices.
Operational Efficiency and Support:
- Lead the development of IT solutions to improve daily operations at fuel stations, such as automated tank gauging (ATG) systems and fuel dispatch tracking.
- Provide IT support for remote fuel station locations, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
- Ensure high uptime and reliability of all IT systems to avoid operational disruptions.
Team Management and Vendor Relations:
- Recruit, train, and manage the IT team, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
- Manage vendor relationships, including negotiating contracts for IT hardware, software, and support services.
- Oversee third-party service providers for payment processing and infrastructure needs.
Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- MBA or equivalent qualification (preferred).
Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in POS systems, payment gateways, and backend integration.
- Hands-on experience with inventory management tools, ATG systems, and SCADA.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards such as PCI DSS, ISO 27001, and environmental compliance in the fuel industry.
- Familiarity with cloud solutions, IoT, and AI-based analytics for fuel operations.
Leadership and Communication:
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities to collaborate with stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of IT experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Previous experience in fuel retail or related industries is highly desirable.
