Role :
Workshop Manager at a MAN Truck Service Centre is responsible for overseeing all aspects of vehicle maintenance and repair operations to ensure optimal service quality, safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. This role is pivotal in managing the daily functions of the workshop, coordinating with team, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and maximizing productivity.
Job Responsibilities:
Operational Management
- Plan, organize, and oversee the workshop’s daily operations to ensure timely and effective repairs and maintenance.
- Monitor workflow, allocate resources efficiently, and prioritize tasks to meet customer service expectations.
- Ensure all repairs are carried out to MAN’s quality standards, focusing on safety and compliance.
Technical Supervision
- Guide and support the technical team with complex repairs, providing expertise and problem-solving solutions.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of MAN truck systems, diagnostics, and repair procedures.
- Oversee equipment maintenance, making sure all tools and machinery are in safe working condition and calibrated as required.
Team Leadership and Development
- Manage, train, and develop workshop staff, including technicians and support personnel.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, set development plans, and support career progression within the team.
- Foster a positive work environment, encourage teamwork, and ensure adherence to health and safety regulations.
Customer Service and Communication
- Act as the point of contact for customers with service inquiries, offering clear explanations on issues, costs, and timeframes.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by resolving complaints, handling disputes, and proactively improving service quality.
Financial and Inventory Management
- Oversee budgeting, cost control, and invoicing, working with the finance team to manage expenditures.
- Manage inventory and spare parts to minimize downtime while balancing cost efficiency.
- Track service KPIs, generate reports, and implement strategies to improve productivity and profitability.
Compliance and Reporting
- Ensure that workshop activities comply with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Prepare reports on workshop performance, downtime, expenses, and other operational metrics as required by management.
Technical Expertise
- Extensive knowledge of MAN trucks, diagnostic equipment, and repair techniques.
- Strong understanding of vehicle electronics, hydraulics, and mechanical systems.
- Proficiency in using computerized diagnostic and management systems.
Leadership and People Management
- Proven experience in managing and motivating a technical team.
- Effective delegation, conflict resolution, and performance management skills.
- Ability to lead by example and foster a collaborative team culture.

Preferred Qualifications:
Education:
- Degree or diploma in automotive engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in a heavy-duty truck workshop, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
Certifications:
- Certifications in MAN or other heavy-duty vehicle service programs are a plus.
Technical Proficiency:
- Familiarity with MAN diagnostic tools and workshop management software.
- This role requires a proactive and hands-on approach to ensure the workshop runs smoothly and efficiently, maintaining high standards of service for MAN trucks.
Net Salary of $1500 - $2000 pm + All Expat Benefits
