Role:
The Factory Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire operational framework of the company, ensuring that production, supply chain, quality control, new product development and customer satisfaction targets are met. This role is pivotal in driving operational excellence, optimizing processes, and leading cross-functional teams to achieve the company’s strategic objectives. The General Manager directly to the Country Manager and plays a key role in the overall leadership and direction of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership:
- Oversee all aspects of the manufacturing operations, including production, supply chain, quality control, and logistics.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to meet production goals, improve efficiency, and reduce costs.
- Ensure the plant operates in compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with other departments such as R&D, Sales, and Marketing to align operations with business objectives.
Production Management:
- Ensure efficient production processes for kitchen sinks, including material sourcing, manufacturing, and assembly.
- Optimize plant capacity, production schedules, and resource allocation to meet demand.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce lead times.
- Monitor production KPIs and implement corrective actions as needed.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure that all products meet or exceed quality standards and customer expectations.
- Implement robust quality control systems and processes to detect and address issues early in the production cycle.
- Work closely with the quality assurance team to resolve any quality-related problems and implement preventative measures.
Supply Chain and Logistics:
- Manage the entire supply chain, from raw material procurement to delivery of finished products to customers.
- Optimize inventory management to ensure the timely availability of materials while minimizing holding costs.
- Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and logistics providers to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations.
- Implement strategies to mitigate supply chain risks and ensure continuity of operations.
Financial Management:
- Develop and manage the operations budget, ensuring alignment with company financial goals.
- Monitor operational expenses and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or efficiency.
- Provide regular financial reports to senior management, including analysis of operational performance and recommendations for improvement.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and mentor a diverse team of operations managers, production supervisors, and staff.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the operations team.
- Identify training and development needs and coordinate relevant programs to enhance team capabilities.
- Conduct performance reviews and implement strategies for talent retention and development.
Customer Satisfaction:
- Ensure that operations are aligned with customer needs and that products are delivered on time and within specifications.
- Collaborate with the customer service and sales teams to address any operational issues that impact customer satisfaction.
- Implement feedback mechanisms to continuously improve products and services based on customer input.
Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:
- Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations.
- Implement safety training programs and promote a culture of safety throughout the organization.
- Manage the plant’s environmental impact, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and promoting sustainability initiatives.
Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Contribute to the development of the company’s strategic plan and ensure that operational strategies align with overall business goals.
- Identify new opportunities for business growth and operational improvement.
- Lead change management initiatives to implement new processes, technologies, or strategies that enhance operations.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare and present detailed reports on operational performance, including production metrics, quality standards, and financial outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all operational processes and procedures.
