Role:
The Management Accountant & MIS Analyst is responsible for providing financial insights and data-driven analysis to support business decision-making. This role involves managing and analysing financial data, preparing management reports, conducting costing analysis, and ensuring the accuracy of financial records using systems like SAP. The position plays a crucial role in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Provide insights into financial performance, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Present financial data to senior management, highlighting key findings and making recommendations for improvement.
Costing and Budgeting:
- Develop and maintain costing models to analyse product, project, and departmental costs.
- Conduct detailed cost analysis to support pricing decisions and profitability assessments.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Monitor actual costs against budgets, identifying variances and proposing corrective actions.
Management Information Systems (MIS):
- Design, implement, and maintain MIS reports that provide timely and accurate financial data to stakeholders.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy in all MIS reports, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to improve reporting processes and systems.
Variance and Trend Analysis:
- Perform detailed variance analysis to compare actual financial performance against budgets and forecasts.
- Identify and explain significant deviations, providing insights into potential risks and opportunities.
- Conduct trend analysis to understand historical performance and predict future financial outcomes.
Internal Controls and Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, financial policies, and procedures.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Implement process improvements to enhance financial controls and reporting accuracy.
Financial Planning and Decision Support:
- Assist in the development of financial models to support strategic planning and decision-making.
- Provide financial analysis and support for business cases, capital investments, and other strategic initiatives.
- Work closely with department heads to understand financial needs and provide relevant analysis.
Cash Flow Management:
- Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring adequate liquidity for operational needs.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts and identify potential cash flow issues.
- Advise on working capital management, including inventory and receivables management.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for improving financial reporting and analysis processes.
- Stay updated on industry trends, accounting standards, and best practices in management accounting and MIS.
- Lead or participate in projects aimed at enhancing financial systems and processes.
Financial and Analytical Expertise:
- Strong understanding of financial accounting, management accounting, and cost accounting principles.
- Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling.
Technical Proficiency:
- Proficiency in SAP (FI/CO modules) for financial reporting, analysis, and cost management.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions, pivot tables, and financial modelling.
- Experience with MIS reporting tools and financial software.
Reporting and Communication Skills:
- Ability to prepare clear, concise, and accurate financial reports and presentations.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Experience in presenting financial data to senior management and other stakeholders.
Attention to Detail:
- High level of attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in financial reports, analysis, and data management.
- Ability to identify discrepancies and resolve them promptly.

Education and Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Inter CA, Inter CMA or MBA
- Relevant certifications in SAP or financial analysis would be advantageous.
Experience:
- Proven experience in management accounting, financial analysis, and MIS reporting, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience in cost analysis, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
