Role :
The Branch Manager will oversee the operations of a logistics branch providing services such as freight management, logistics, customs clearance, and warehousing. The role involves managing day-to-day activities, ensuring operational efficiency, driving business growth, and maintaining high standards of customer service.
Responsibilities:
Operational Management:
- Oversee and manage all branch operations including freight management, logistics, customs clearance, and warehousing.
- Ensure efficient and timely delivery of logistics services.
- Implement and monitor standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure operational excellence.
- Coordinate with other branches and head office to align operational strategies.
Business Development:
- Develop and implement strategies to attract new clients and retain existing ones.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the logistics and supply chain sector.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
- Conduct market research to stay updated with industry trends and competitor activities.
Financial Management:
- Prepare and manage branch budgets, ensuring profitability and cost control.
- Monitor financial performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Generate financial reports and present them to senior management.
- Ensure timely billing and collection of payments from clients.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and motivate the branch team to achieve operational and financial targets.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Identify training needs and organize development programs for staff.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Customer Service:
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by delivering excellent service.
- Resolve customer issues and complaints promptly and effectively.
- Develop and maintain customer service standards.
- Conduct regular customer feedback surveys and implement improvements.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, laws, and company policies.
- Implement and monitor health and safety procedures within the branch.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies for customs clearance and other compliance-related matters.
Logistics and Supply Chain Optimization:
- Analyze and improve logistics processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Implement advanced logistics solutions and technologies.
- Manage inventory and warehousing operations to ensure optimal stock levels.
- Coordinate with transportation providers to ensure reliable and cost-effective delivery.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Branch Manager or in a similar leadership role within the logistics industry.
- Strong understanding of freight management, logistics, customs clearance, and warehousing.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong business acumen and financial management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
