Job Profile:
The Plant Head is a crucial and multifaceted role responsible for the overall management, operations, and performance of these steel manufacturing processes. The role demands a well-rounded skill set that combines technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a strong focus on operational excellence
Job Responsibilities:
Operations Management:
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the Bar Mill, Tube Mill, and Wire Mill to ensure smooth and efficient production processes.
- Coordinate with various departments including production, maintenance, quality control, and logistics to achieve production targets and maintain product quality.
Production Planning:
- Develop and implement production plans and schedules to optimize output while meeting customer demands and quality standards.
- Monitor production progress and adjust plans as needed to address any issues or bottlenecks.
Quality Control:
- Establish and enforce quality control measures to ensure that the produced steel products meet industry standards and customer specifications.
- Implement quality assurance procedures and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality.
Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, environmental standards, and legal requirements within the plant.
- Implement and promote a culture of safety awareness and best practices among all employees.
Maintenance and Reliability:
- Collaborate with the maintenance department to ensure timely maintenance and repair of equipment, minimizing downtime and optimizing production efficiency.
- Implement preventive maintenance programs to extend the life of machinery and equipment.
Budget and Cost Management:
- Develop and manage budgets for the plant's operations, including expenditures for equipment, maintenance, labor, and other resources.
- Monitor expenses and identify opportunities for cost reduction while maintaining operational excellence.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and manage a diverse team of employees, including supervisors, engineers, technicians, and operators.
- Foster a positive work environment, encourage employee growth, and address any performance or personnel issues.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify areas for process improvement and operational efficiency enhancements.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles and other methodologies to optimize production processes and reduce waste.
