Role
The Workshop Manager for MAN Trucks is responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the workshop. This role is critical to ensuring the smooth operation of the workshop, maintaining high standards of service, and fostering a positive environment for both employees and customers. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with a passion for the automotive industry and a commitment to excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Workshop Management:
- Oversee the daily operations of the workshop to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
- Implement and monitor workshop schedules to maximize productivity.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Team Leadership:
- Manage, train, and motivate workshop staff, including mechanics, technicians, and support staff.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide continuous development opportunities for the team.
- Foster a collaborative and positive working environment.
Quality Control:
- Ensure all repairs and maintenance work meet MAN Trucks' quality standards.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of completed work.
- Address any issues or discrepancies promptly.
Customer Service:
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through effective communication and problem-solving.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback in a professional manner.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers.
Inventory and Parts Management:
- Oversee the procurement and inventory of parts and tools required for workshop operations.
- Ensure accurate and timely ordering of parts to avoid delays in service.
- Maintain records of parts usage and inventory levels.
Financial Management:
- Monitor and control workshop budgets and expenses.
- Prepare and present financial reports to senior management.
- Identify opportunities for cost-saving and efficiency improvements.
Technical Expertise:
- Stay updated with the latest MAN Trucks technology and service techniques.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the workshop team.
- Implement new technologies and processes to improve service quality.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
Technical Knowledge:
- Extensive knowledge of MAN Trucks and their maintenance requirements.
- Strong understanding of automotive repair and diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Knowledge of MAN CAT
Management Skills:
- Proven experience in managing a workshop or similar environment.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
Customer Service:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle customer inquiries and complaints effectively.
Problem-Solving:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to make quick and effective decisions under pressure.
Financial Acumen:
- Experience in budget management and financial reporting.
- Ability to identify and implement cost-saving measures.
Attention to Detail:
- Strong focus on quality control and attention to detail.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of work.
Certifications and Education:
- Degree or diploma in automotive engineering or a related field.
- Certification from MAN or other relevant automotive certifications is highly desirable.
Technical Proficiency:
- Proficiency in using workshop management software.
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools and software used in truck maintenance.
Additional Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate heavy vehicles.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks related to truck maintenance.
Net salary in the range of $2500 - $3000 pm + Accommodation + Transport + Local Salary + All Expat Benefits
