Overall, the Workshop Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of farm equipment, maximizing productivity, and minimizing downtime through effective maintenance and repair processes.
Responsibilities:
- Equipment Maintenance: Overseeing the maintenance and repair of all farm equipment, including tractors, harvesters, Excavators, Light Tractors (upto 75hp), Heavy duty tractors Case IH Make(225hp to 600hp), Backhoe loaders, Tippers, Compactors, Harvesters Case IH & John Deere, Light Trucks, etc
- Inventory Management: Managing inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies necessary for equipment maintenance and repair.
- Team Supervision: Leading a team of mechanics and technicians, assigning tasks, providing training, and ensuring productivity and efficiency in the workshop.
- Budgeting and Cost Control: Developing and managing the workshop budget, tracking expenses, and implementing cost-saving measures where possible.
- Safety Compliance: Ensuring that all workshop activities comply with safety regulations and best practices, and promoting a culture of safety among workshop staff.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnosing complex technical issues with farm equipment and devising effective solutions to minimize downtime.
- Record-Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and inspections, and generating reports as needed.
- Collaboration: Working closely with other departments within the farm, such as operations, agronomy, and administration, to coordinate equipment maintenance schedules and priorities.
