Job Summary:
The General Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the overall operations, growth, and success of multiple retail stores within the chain. Profile requires a combination of business acumen, retail expertise, and leadership skills. This position is responsible for driving sales, optimizing store performance, and ensuring the highest standards of customer service are met across all locations.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
- Develop and execute the retail chain's long-term and short-term business strategies.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to adapt strategies.
- Establish annual goals and objectives, in coordination with the executive team.
Operations Management:
- Oversee and coordinate the daily operations of multiple retail stores, ensuring consistency and efficiency.
- Optimize inventory management, ensuring the right product mix and stock levels.
- Monitor and control operational expenses to enhance profitability.
Team Leadership:
- Recruit, train, and manage store managers and other support staff.
- Foster a collaborative and customer-centric organizational culture.
- Set performance goals, provide guidance, and evaluate the performance of direct reports.
Customer Service:
- Maintain a strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service in all retail locations.
- Address and resolve customer concerns, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Implement strategies to enhance the overall shopping experience and customer loyalty.
Visual Merchandising:
- Oversee the consistent presentation of merchandise in all stores, ensuring attractive displays.
- Develop and execute visual merchandising plans to optimize sales and uphold the brand image.
Sales and Marketing:
- Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies to increase foot traffic and online sales across all stores.
- Monitor sales performance and make adjustments as necessary.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and launch promotions and advertising campaigns.
Financial Management:
- Prepare and manage the retail chain's budget, controlling expenses and maximizing revenue.
- Analyze financial reports and key performance indicators to make informed business decisions.
- Implement cost-effective practices to drive profitability.
Compliance and Security:
- Ensure that all stores within the retail chain comply with legal and safety regulations.
- Implement and oversee loss prevention measures to safeguard merchandise and assets.
Vendor and Supplier Relations:
- Manage relationships with suppliers and negotiate favorable terms and conditions for the retail chain.
- Evaluate product offerings and make decisions on which footwear brands and styles to carry.
